About Bangaradhaama
Bangaradhaama is a living tribute to the vision, values, and enduring legacy of Sri S. Bangarappa, former Chief Minister of Karnataka and one of the most influential leaders of the state. Built in his native village Kubatur, Soraba taluk, Shivamogga district, this memorial was founded by his son, Sri Madhu Bangarappa, Hon’ble Minister of Primary & Secondary Education and Sakala of Karnataka.

Born on 26 October 1933 in Kubatur village, Shimoga district, S. Bangarappa emerged from a modest background in the Deevaru-Idiga community. His early struggles instilled a deep empathy for the marginalized — a trait that remained central to his leadership.

Bangarappa’s political journey began with his election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1967. Over the years, he rose through various key positions — from Home Minister to Leader of the Opposition — before serving as Chief Minister between 1990 and 1992.
